MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK,
DRAMA & EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY

Workshops, Courses, and Keynotes

The Center for Creative Arts Therapy has given more than 150 invited keynotes, presentations, workshops, and courses throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia for mental health, healthcare, education, and arts professionals; graduate counseling, drama therapy, and expressive arts therapies students; and the general public. To meet the increasing needs for distance learning, Creative Clinical Consulting also gives webinars for mental health and healthcare professionals and students via Skype and other electronic platforms.

Lectures and keynote presentations include visual case examples and DVD presentations; workshops and courses include lecture, visual case examples, DVD presentations, and hands-on experience with methods of intervention. No prior drama or art experience is necessary and workshops are appropriate for mental health counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, addictions counselors, play therapists, expressive therapists, medical personnel, law enforcement, theatre educators and performers, and school counselors and psychologists.

Institutional & Organizational Hosting

Courses, workshops and keynote presentations are appropriate for the professional development of mental health (mental health counseling, social work, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, creative arts therapists/expressive arts therapists, and play therapists), health care (MDs, nurses, allied health professionals), and arts in healthcare professionals in mental health agencies, educational institutions, hospitals, companies/corporations, and arts organizations throughout the US and internationally.

Presentations are conducted in English (please advise if you will be using a translator). They are flexible and may be arranged for one day, two days or or several days in a row. Special topics and Certificates of Completion from Creative Clinical Consulting can be arranged for your group upon request.

Course or Workshop Considerations

The Host Facility should provide:

  • Space in a room or conference meeting room with seating at tables for participants; tables may be classroom style (rectangular) or banquet style (round to seat about 8-10 people).

  • Accessibility and comfort for participants with physical challenges.

  • Space appropriate for the use of drawing materials, collage work, and group art experience and for interaction between participants; host facility agrees to provide supplies or reimburse presenter for supplies and shipping to destination (modest cost per person).

  • Ability to electronically distribute course or workshop handouts to participants.

  • LCD projector (with sound capabilities for music and brief film clips), screen, and microphone (for large groups).

  • Reservations and scheduling for a workshop usually requires a minimum of 3 months lead time, but 6 months is optimal when scheduling during spring or summer.
