Theatre for Trauma & PTSD is an evidence-based, innovative approach to prevention and clinical intervention for vulnerable individuals and communities exposed to violence; war; school bullying; intolerance and hate crimes; maltreatment or neglect; disrupted caregiving and other chronic life adversity. Learn the unique elements of improvisational theater and cooperative play in a therapeutic framework grounded in the six core components of complex trauma intervention: promotion of safety; self-regulation; healthy attachments; identity-development; self-worth, esteem and competency; and integration of trauma and adversity experiences into a meaningful and forward-looking life narrative. 

 

The Center for Creative Arts Therapy is approved as a continuing education provider for Social Workers and Counselors by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, Approved Continuing Education Sponsor, (#159.001383).

 

This workshop provides 15 CEUs for Social Workers and Counselors and 1 credit hour for Drama Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy students.
