Open Art Studio Therapy

 

Introduction to the Studio is designed to introduce core principles of art making in a rigorous and active studio environment. A primary concern is examining visual organization and utilizing it to promote effective communication in multiple forms and mediums. To this end we explore the stages and phases of Open Art Studio.

 

Learning Objectives:

 

1. Understand the role of the art therapist as part of the Open Art Studio.
2. Appreciate ethical issues and responsibilities of the art therapist within the Open Art Studio.
3. Identify and define the various Open Art Studio structure and stages.
4. Become familiar with and use various art mediums.
5. Develop an appreciation for the role of and need for an Open Art Studio therapeutic experience for participants.

This online course provides 6 CEUs for Social Workers and Counselors, Creative Arts Therapists and Expressive Arts Therapists. This course does not qualify for Expressive Arts Therapy coursework requirements and can not be used towards the REAT credentials.

  • Course Completion. You will have 30 days for 6 credit hour course, 45 days for a 9 hour course, and 90 days for a 15 hour course from the date of registration to complete it.
